Geographical Affairs

Hi! My name is Maria Chara Karypidou and I am a Climate Scientist. Currently, I hold a Postdoctoral Researcher position at the Department of Meteorology and Climatology, at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, since November 2022.

I am fascinated by the world of climate dynamics, especially over the southern Hemisphere and I am also interested on how climate affects human health and especially vector-borne diseases.

I believe that science should be a testament to the beautiful dance between chaos and complexity in nature and at the same time, be a life-long commitment of genuine service to society, and primarily to the disadvantaged, so that eventually "the whole Jericho road will be transformed".
